The first Vietnamese-Hungarian Rectors’ Conference was held in Hanoi on 27–28 November.

The first Vietnamese-Hungarian Rectors’ Conference was held in Hanoi on 27–28 November. The event was organized by the Hungarian Ministry of Human Capacities and Hungarian Rectors’ Conference in cooperation with Tempus Public Foundation and was opened by Mr János Áder, President of Hungary and Pham Vu Luan, Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training.

Following the opening speeches Mr Zoltán Maruzsa, Hungarian Deputy State Secretary of Higher Education Affairs and Prof. József Bódis, President of Hungarian Rectors’ Conference held their respective presentations on Hungarian higher education, R&D sector and on European Higher Education Area.

Prof. András Nemeslaki, President of the Board of Trustees of Tempus Public Foundation also spoke in the plenary session of the conference about experiences and opportunities of international cooperation, internationalization and cooperation between higher education institutions and companies. ‘Internationalization of higher education and student mobility are essential for competitive economies which are in need of multi-skilled and geographically mobile workers with rich intercultural and language competences’ – said Nemeslaki.
