Katalin Novák, Hungary’s state secretary for family, youth and international affairs at the human resources ministry met South Africa’s education minister and signed an agreement under which the country will be included in the Stipendium Hungaricum programme. According to the agreement Hungarian universities will host 100 students (from Bachelor to Doctoral level) from South Africa altogether.
The African country is Hungary’s 53rd partner in the programme, and the scheme annually benefits altogether 3,500 foreign students studying at Hungarian universities and colleges.
The application for the scholarship opens by mid-January, 2017.
