Izmit District Directorate of National Education (IDDNE) is a governmental organization in charge with the planning and coordination of all kinds of educational and training activities from pre-school, to university and adult education in Izmit. The Directorate was founded in 2008. The Directorate coordinates 136 pre-primary, primary, secondary and technical schools, Science and Art center, Counseling and Research Center, 67042 students, 3765 teachers. Our organization provides training to adults in The Public Education Center and The Vocational Training Center.
The Directorate is responsible to for organizing all the required actions in the field of education to realize a real increase in the management and organizational capacity of this largest governmental body of Izmit City.In this context the Directorate supports school principals, teachers and other staff with variety of in-service training courses. Besides it cooperates in many National and International projects. Izmit City Directorate of National Education consists of different branches, bureaus, permanent boards and commissions according to the characteristic of the service. Main duties and services of the Directorate are; Personnel, Appointment, Examination, Investigation, Evaluation, Culture, Education-Training and Student Affairs, Program Development, In-service Training, Computer and Examination Services, Pre-primary Education, Special education and Guidance, In-school Physical Education and Sports Teacher Services and Social Works, Scholarships and Dormitories, Private Education Institutions, Health Affairs, Non-formal Education, Apprenticeship, Vocational Technical Education, Research, Planning and Statistics,Budget-Capital expenses and Implementations, Educational Tools and Equipment, Archive and Administrative Department, Civil Defense Services, Press and Public Relations. The European idea and intercultural learning are important elements of our education and training life. Therefore the Izmit City Directorate of National Education gives special importance for planning and undertaking project activities. In this context, a projects coordination unit is established within the directorate and started its activities in February 2010.
My organization is open and highly motivated for possible partnerships in order to exploit new opportunities for collaborating with different institutions from different countries and develop project ideas.
