Strengthening feeling of the European citizenship and values, fighting intolerance

About the organisation:
ESLI was created in 2010 to monitor and advocate Terezin Declaration which was endorsed by 47 countries, including the whole EU. We promote rights of Holocaust survivors and other victims of Nazi persecution on the European level in five main areas:
- Social Welfare of Victims of Nazism
- Restitution of immovable property
- Looted art and Judaica
- Education and Remembrance

ESLI also aims to keep Shoah legacy alive. ESLI through its existence organized international conferences, seminars and workshops, conducted several studies and databases, organized art projects. ESLI cooperates with governments, EU bodies and civil society organisations.

Timetable of the project: November 2017 - December 2018

The idea behind the project is to strengthen feeling of citizenship, promote democracy and European values, fight against intolerance and bigotry and protect European cultural values. The project aims at interconnecting public authorities, NGOs, Jewish communities and schools in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. The project also aims to create a platform bringing together different stakeholders via restoration of Jewish cemeteries or synagogues. The project will include survey, trainings for local authorities, educational and cultural events.

Role of the partner organisation in the project:
Coordination of activities on national level. Interconnecting local Jewish communities, municipalities, organization of events.

ESLI is seeking partners from non-governmental sector as well as local municipalities, preferably from a region where Jewish cemetery which needs to be restored is located.
