About the organisation:
Established in 1939 as the association responsible for the development of Santo António das Areias and it’s community, nowadays insures:
a) Nursing Home for 36 elderly citizens;
b) Day Care for 30 elderly citizens;
c) Food and hygiene for 30 citizens on economic/social need;
d) 45 Houses with social rents;
e) 30 Employees;
f) A Folklore Group of 30 persons.

About the project:
Marvão European Folk Festival
4 events of folklore from EU Member States– 2 events will take place on the second weekend of July in Santo António das Areias (Marvão); the other 2 will take place on a location to agree with the participant groups.

Participants must be organized groups of citizens (represented by themselves or by other entity) from other EU Member States, which are devoted to their local folklore – music, dance and clothes.

Our main purpose is to have 4 international events that confirms EU diversity and friendship, our biggest strengths, promote intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding and full European citizenship, through organised demonstrations of music and dance from specific regions of EU.

We expect the partner’s participation to be financed by this Program.
Our local folklore group is a part of this institution and we see this project as the basis for future actions and events between the towns, groups and communities involved.

Federations/associations of local authorities;
Non-profit organisations representing local authorities ;
Groups of citizens.
