Importance of integration as a weapon against nationalism and fascism

Integration of European countries has an important milestone, which is the sing of the Treaties of Rome. It was 1957, and some important political leaders agreed that the best choice for European countries was to start a common path towards stability and freedom, in a place called European Community.
The memory of WWII, of persecution and hatred was still fresh in those years.
The project objective is to foster European remembrance and to reflect on the importance of integration as a weapon against nationalism and fascism.

The project will develop some transnational events in every partners countries, on the following thematics.
1. Shoah and persecutions in Europe
2. Treaties of Rome and the fathers of Europe
3. Citizens of tomorrow

The specific objectives of these activities are:
1. to share common views about our history and our future;
2. to remember the most important mile stones of European integration process;
3. to encourage meetings between active citizens;
4. to visit places of historic interest;
5. to encourage young people active participation in those thematics.

Type of organisation: Public local/regional authorities or non -profit organisations, including civil society organisations, survivors' associations, and cultural, youth, educational and research organizations, associations of twinned towns.

Period: 1 August 2017 - 31 January 2018
Maximum eligible grant for a project: 100 000 EUR
Deadline: 1st of march 2017
