Stigmatisation of migrant communities

About the municipality:
Devnya municipality is located at northeastern Bulgaria, Varna District. The municipality has 3 settlements with a total population of 8730 residents and is an economically developed region. Of importance in the structure of the municipal economy is the industry. Several of the largest chemical plants in the country - Solvay Sodi AD, Agropolychim AD, Polimeri AD are located on the territory of the municipality. Devnya municipality has successfully implemented many projects funded by the EU and other donor programs as well as traditions in organizing and conducting various events, cultural and festivals.

About the project:
Aim: Fighting with the stigmatization of the term "immigrant" and creating a counter-discourse on intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding.

Timetable of the project:
January 2018 – Jully 2019

Role of the partner organisation in the project:
Creating a partnership and prerequisites for long-term cooperation. Exchange best
practices. Participation in the organization and holding of joint conferences to discuss the issues of the future enlargement of Europe and debates on the future of Europe after the separation of UK from the EU. Issues related to the problems of smaller municipalities will be addressed, sharing experiences and discussing the possibilities for overcoming them.
