About the municipality:
Dupnitsa Municipality is located in Southwest Bulgaria, Kyustendil District, comprising 17 settlements with a total population of 45 000 inhabitants. The municipality has a very favorable geostrategic situation, located on the road of European transport corridor IV, and 48 km from the capital Sofia. The location of the municipality is key to its accessibility from the country, the Western Balkans and Greece, access to the Middle East and the Mediterranean - and hence - is a key strength for the local economy. The Municipality of Dupnitsa has successfully implemented a number of EU-funded projects and other donor programs - both in the sphere of social services, large infrastructure projects and human resources.

About the project:
The main objective is to achieve cooperation and exchange of experience on key issues, related to municipal governance as well as the future of the EU and the reflection of the problems and advantages of the immigration flow in the EU, especially in the Balkans And protecting the environment and reducing emissions. Opportunities for cooperation in the implementation of different social projects and mutual assistance in solving key problems.

Prerequisites for sustainable cooperation and partnership will be created, exchanges of experience and good practices on key issues, related to the activities of the municipalities.

The main activities that will be implemented by the municipal partners are organizing and participating in round tables, which will discuss the issues set out in the main objectives.
