About the organisation:
Preili Municipality is located in the southwest of Latgale region. The population of the region is 10 262 (01.01.2017.) The municipality consists of Preiļi Town and 4 rural territories – Aizkalne, Pelēči, Sauna and Preiļi. The total area of the territory of Preiļi Municipality is 364.41 km2.
The biggest value of the Municipality is its citizens with their knowledge, skills and working habits. The municipality is attractive with its history, traditions, economy and natural landscape.
Major social challenges of the Municipality:
- Pop. Growth – elderly;
- Unemployment;
Preili Municipality Council administration is a non-profit budgetary organisation that is organised and managed within the scope of their competence and the law according to the laws of Republic of Latvia.

Preili Municipality Council is looking for partners in order to exchange experiences how local administration can be effective, introduce innovative services and improve staff performance. Municipality is interested to collaborate and discuss a good practice in such themes as local infrastructure, social care services, cultural sphere, education system and small town development.
