About the municipality:
The Municipality of La Palma del Condado, as public local administration body, is devoted to define and apply policies with citizens in relationship with social cohesion in all levels and fields.

The total population is 10.600 inhabitants and there is a unemployment rate of 27%. Unemployed rate for youth people is close to 50%. The commitment of La Palma del Condado municipality is to create employment opportunities in all sectors, mainly in tourism, food production, services, agriculture and small industries.

About the project:
Network of European Sustainable Taste Cities (NESTCI)

It is an initiative promoted by a consortium formed by ten Spanish and Portuguese entities as current partners of an European project named as “South Taste” and financed by Interreg Programme (http://www.poctep.eu/es/2014-2020/sabor-sur)

What objective pursues t NESTCI project?
Project objective is to promote an open and multilevel debate among local/regional/European interested bodies to improve sustainable local development policies in food sector and in matters as cooperation on innovation and research, new collaborative entrepreneurship, promotion of tourism based in local food production (“km 0”) and establishing channels with MEP and EU institutions to improve policies at European level in food sector and empower EU citizens in this field.

Municipalities, public regional/national/European bodies involved in project fields (Food, tourism and environmental sustainability), Consumer organizations, Living Labs in food sector, Museums of food , Academy centers in food sector, Technological platforms in food sector, European Think Tanks in Food, European Parliament bodies and other EU institutions (CoR, …), on line networks for joint debates about policies, volunteers organizations, organizations of enterprises, foundations involved in food sector…
