About the project:
The whole of Europe and the world are witnessing an increase of hate-speech mostly through social media. Humanitarian crises and troubling economical situations have made the people doubtful about the European Union and its respective decision makers. More so it has also spawned further EU scepticism, intolerance and racism. If history has taught us anything is that unstable times will lead into difficult ones which have seen democracies plunge into totalitarianism.
To understand and be able to embody democracy, cultural differences and the
European Union, people need to understand the history of democracy and the changes it has undergone. “Understanding Democracy – Understanding Us” is a project that aims to inspire people to embrace the democratic European Union and to take up an active role in society and decision making. The project uses creative process of community theatre to explore the history of democracy in Europe and mark out the changes that took place.

Role of the partner organisation in the project:
The partner organizations will be involved in each activity of the project. During a preparatory meeting all activities will be discussed.
