Active involvement of citizens in the life of local communities under the umbrella of Europe
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:
The city of Isaccea rises up the hills on the right bank of the Danube, about 35 km northwest of city of Tulcea and 41 km from Galati, in an area full of natural charm.
The city of Isaccea has as its main concerns ensuring the well-being of the citizens from the constituent localities of Isaccea (residence), Revărsarea and Tichileşti. Welfare has been gained in this city through various projects in infrastructure, tourism, culture, and the creation of youth centers for the purpose of involving them in the cultural and artistic life of the city.
In addition to these basic investments, Isaccea City focuses on providing European citizens with panoramas. For this purpose the House of Culture (Isaccea- Romania) and the Cultural Association "Znanie" (Dodritsch- Bulgaria) have partnered to bring closer the citizens of the two communities of European values.
This promotes intercultural development, the exchange of experience, the active involvement of citizens in the decision-making system, in a word, the welfare offered by social cohesion.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The town of Isaccea organizes a twinning meeting between May 8 and May 10, 2020 in Romania, with the participation of 88 guests from the partner country and 88 other citizens from Isaccea.
The aim of our project is to develop an event that has six main lines of action: "European dimension", "Celebrating the European Day," "Values, traditions, culture '", "Europe for all", ” Young and their leisure time " , "Projections about the future".
On these days, people will know the EU better by participating in various interactive activities organized such as public debates about ensuring the political peace and economic reconstruction; ensuring cooperation between European nations, convergence of interests of the European peoples; establishing courses of action for further and sustainable development, competitions that need participants' knowledge on EU policies and encourage them to present new and durable ideas and promote active participation of citizens.
Profile of the partners/ type of organization:
Small and medium-sized towns, municipalities, regional / national / European public bodies involved in the organization and leadership of local public administrations, civic non-governmental organizations / foundations / cultural and artistic leisure and on-line networks for joint debates.
